A complex production in every sense. From commission to transmission in the timeframe that would normally be consider pre-contract. We converted our canteen into a newsroom for the ITN production team, it housed four of the five graphics machines and three of the four EVS machine operators receiving content from 48 outside sources - a mixture of IP links, satellite receivers and conventional facility lines from BT Tower. We scaled up our Dante Audio network to accommodate 14 additional channels of radio mic in addition to all the clean feeds for the remote sites.
We partnered with TimeLine to provide an additional router and comms matrix in an ad-hoc MCR linked over the permanent interarea connectivity throughout the building. Although the programme was produced in HD we fed the studio LED walls in UHD to eliminate scaling artifacts.
For ultimate resilience we delivered to Channel4 via three paths using fibre and satellite uplinks and had generator power backup in case of national grid failure.
