30TH MARCH 2023
RIVERSIDE TV STUDIOS LIMITED CONTINUES TO PROVIDE TV STUDIO FACILITIES
Riverside TV Studios Ltd (RTVS), the multi-million-pound state of the art television studio and production facility based in the Riverside Studios complex in Hammersmith, today announced that it continues to conduct and grow its business as usual in its home alongside the Thames in West London. This follows the announcement that the Riverside Trust, the owners of Riverside Studios, are going into administration.
All existing, multiple year leases previously granted to tenants within the building owned by Riverside Trust, which was placed into Administration on 29th March, continue to be valid ensuring that there is no disruption to any studio bookings in place now or in the future. RTVS has a long-term lease on Studio 1 in the building complex, but does on occasion use other parts of the building dependent on client requirements.
Boasting state-of-the-art facilities and the latest high-tech equipment, centrally located RTVS hosts many entertainment shows created by leading UK production companies, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and UKTV. Recent productions include Have I Got News For You, Sam Ryder Rocks New Year's Eve, The Apprentice You're Fired and Fantasy Football League.
RTVS has a wealth of experience in catering for the complex needs of television studio productions and retains great flexibility to create bespoke packages to meet all requirements, providing a fully crewed solution in all departments.
Bobbi Blackman, Commercial Director and Duncan Stewart, Technical Director remain the direct contacts at RTVS, assisting and co-ordinating with clients for bookings within both studios.
Alex Innes, The Innes Consultancy Limited, comments, “The proposed appointment of an Administrator to Riverside Trust will not affect the lease that RTVS has for the studios at the Riverside building and RTVS will continue to operate in the building as usual. We will work with the Administrator as our new landlord, until the future of the building has been determined and we continue with a new landlord.”
William Burdett-Coutts, Chair, RTVS adds “RTVS continues as a vital television studio facility in West London. Whilst we are sad to see the situation with the Riverside Trust arise, we would like to reassure all our clients that our business will continue as usual.”

About Riverside TV Studios Limited
Riverside TV Studios Limited was formed in 2002 as a commercial requirement of the Arts Council Recovery Programme for the Riverside Trust who run Riverside Studios as an arts centre, with the aim of leasing Studio1 to a commercial company for television production providing guaranteed income for Riverside Studios artistic programme.
Since 2002 RTVS gained a reputation for high quality production facilities across a wide genre of music, comedy and corporate programmes. In 2013 the old Riverside Studios building was closed down for a rebuild across its own site and that of the adjacent building, Queens Wharf. The new building opened in 2019 with hugely improved studio facilities designed for purpose, where the old building was an adapted factory which operated for many years as a BBC Television Studio hosting many classic shows such as Dixon of Dock Green, Quatermass and Hancock’s Half Hour. It was also where colour television was first trialled and broadcast on BBC2.
Continual investment has seen the introduction of high definition, ultra-high definition and IP audio, making RTVS’s facilities some of the best in the country with an incredible location in central London next to Hammersmith Bridge. The facilities now boast two production galleries and associated edit and machine rooms.
